Remembering June Rumsby

  • Post category:News

Many people in and around Tuttington were shocked and saddened to hear recently of the death of our friend June Rumsby.

It was just a few weeks ago that Tuttington had celebrated June’s retirement as Church Warden at the annual village Picnic on the Green. June had been recovering from an operation when she died at home.

June had played an important role in village life both as a Parish Councillor and later as Church Warden for the church of St Peter and St Paul, Tuttington. For many years, June had given her time and work to our village making a significant voluntary contribution to community life. The esteem felt for June by many folk was reflected in the affectionate words spoken at the time of the presentation made on the occasion of her retirement.

June will be greatly missed by us all. Our condolences and thoughts go to Roger and his family.

June’s funeral will be held on Friday 23rd August 2024 at 1pm at the church of St Peter and St Paul, Tuttington. No flowers please. Donations to Cancer Research UK would be appreciated. There will be refreshments at the church after the funeral. A family cremation will be held in Cromer afterwards. Extra parking will be available on the concrete area on Norwich Road.
