What is it?
The Annual Parish Meeting is called by the Parish Council – they are required to do so by law – as a forum for residents to discuss any local matter of their choosing. It is neither a Parish Council Meeting nor is it a church meeting. By convention the meeting is chaired by the Parish Council Chairperson.
The meeting covers both Burgh an Tuttington villages. This particular meeting is usually held in Tuttington church because summer community meetings are held at that venue and winter meetings are usually in Burgh. However, there is a change this year and the 2026 Annual Parish Meeting will be in Burgh Reading Room because of uncertainty about the completion date of church repairs in Tuttington.
At past meetings, residents have reported on village events of during the year and outline upcoming events. Matters of concern to residents are also discussed.
This year, possible items relevant to Tuttington residents include the events calendar, Tuttington Wood, repair work on Tuttington church, Tuttington Village Green, and roadside verges.
If you come along, you can just listen to what others have to say or get involved yourself. If you want to stay on, the Annual Parish Council Meeting will be held immediately after the Annual Parish Meeting.
The meeting will be in Burgh Reading Room on Wednesday 6th May 2026, starting at 7:30pm. All welcome.
Meeting papers can be downloaded from the Burgh and Tuttington Parish Council website.
