The demand for food banks in this country is greater than ever before. If you feel you would like to donate, there is now a collection box in the porch of Tuttington church. Items donated will be taken to the various local food bank centres for distribution.
Any items of food, toiletries, cleaning products, nappies, etc. are always very much appreciated. Occasionally, there are requests for specific items which are either in short supply or high demand. At this point in time, we know the local food bank centres are looking for long-life milk and fruit juice, tinned ham and meats, tinned custard and tinned fruit plus chocolate and sweets for children.
Food donations are forwarded to and distributed by the North Norfolk foodbank (formerly the Cromer and District foodbank) based in the Methodist Church Hall on the corner of West Street and Hall Road in Cromer. They have grocery distribution centres in Holt, Sheringham, Cromer, Aylsham, North Walsham and Stalham. The North Norfolk Foodbank is associated more widely with the Trussell Trust which runs the largest collection of food banks in the UK. They provide help and support for those in crisis and the fourteen million people who live below the poverty line.
If you can, please help by donating grocery items for the collection box in the porch of Tuttington church.
