If lockdown wasn’t just about enough to keep us confined to our homes, queue the snow, gales and freezing temperatures to finish the job.
The thaw is forecast for the coming week but strong winds have put a sting in the tail of the cold period by blowing snow from the fields onto the roads. This has caught out quite a few motorists locally who have got stuck in new snow drifts. With the help of local farmers many a stuck car has been pulled free.
