Old trout in Tuttington

That’s as maybe but this one was spotted in King’s Beck by the bridge on Beck Lane this week. At least it looks like a trout – one of several seen in the beck of late. Any keen fish spotters can help us here to confirm our identification and if we have it wrong, we will be pleased to correct our error.

This particular fish, together with its mates, was sharing the beck at the time with a swan. We have reported previously about swan visitations to the village which we can probably all agree enhances the local environment.

The presence of these visitors to our community indicates that the waters hereabouts are pretty clean and relatively free of pollution. So let’s keep it that way. And please don’t try to catch the fish – or the swans for that matter!
