A slightly puzzling headline, maybe, but it’s meant to convey two upcoming events, and a request. Tuttington church will be manning – or should we say personing – a charity stall in Aylsham Marketplace during the morning of Saturday 11 September 2021.
The volunteers will need items to sell in order to raise the requisite charitable funds. So please can you have a rummage for those items you haven’t used for over a year (the suggested time-frame to indicate you probably don’t need them any more) and bring said items along to Tuttington church ahead of the date in question. Please leave your offerings in the church porch where they will be collected, and gratefully received.
We have heard that one generous benefactor will be donating a Picasso and a Stradivarius. Sadly, Antonio Staradivari was not a very good painter and Pablo Picasso couldn’t make violins to save his life (so said Tommy Cooper)! But, any first editions of Alice in Wonderland, the odd Henry Moore you keep in the garden or the original hand-written lyric for Yesterday by Paul McCartney would do just as well.
And then later, the following Saturday 18 September 2021, you will have further opportunity to purchase items of interest and have a coffee with other Tuttingtonians. If you come to the church between 10:00am and 12:30pm that morning, you will be able to buy (you’ve guessed it) Bric-a-Brac, but also plants, books and more..
There will be cakes, coffees and teas and a chance to chat with friends and neighbours. Don’t miss it; these are rare events during days of the pandemic. The organisers will be encouraging all visitors to follow the current Covid recommendations. See you there!
