A group of hardy volunteers braved the gusty winds to erect the Tuttington Christmas tree on the Village Green again this year.
There was some concern that the stormy conditions might be too much for the 20 ft tree. But it was firmly secured and wedged in the ground.
After lifting up the tree, David and Graham had to hunt for Barney while Colin dreams of skiing on faraway slopes. Meanwhile, the Village Greens try to decide if their baubles fulfill the ‘natural’ brief – for tree decorations.
Thank goodness! Barney is located by David using that old cordless drill trick.
David attaches the essential broadband connection to the Christmas tree by ‘borrowing’ it from overhead (don’t tell them on the other side of the tree!). The Village Greens continue to weigh up the bauble evidence…
Jackie does her pilates at the same time as attaching her decos.
There were some amazing ‘natural’ decorations.
The illustrated pieces of wood were especially appreciated!
And of course Gary’s star – was the Star – if you see what we mean.
We must also mention the many willing helpers and organisers who are not shown, and especially the much appreciated teas, coffees, sausage and bacon rolls etc etc. You know who you are – and so do we!
And here is the team of electricians required to straggle a few light around the yew tree in the churchyard…
