Hats Off to Easter Fun organisers!

There was fun and food to be had at the Easter event held in Tuttington church – not to mention the Easter Bonnets. On a sunny spring Sunday, village folk came along for a coffee, a chat and the choice of a very wide variety of cakes. Children took part in the Easter Egg Hunt in the churchyard followed by Easter crafts and fun competitions inside the church. There was much to browse through including bric-a-brac items, books and plants.

But the crowning glory of the day was the Easter Bonnet competition. Contenders had clearly spent much time, effort and imagination on their beautiful homemade hats. After judging, the results were announced. The winner of the adult class was Jane Snape with a fantastic offering of origami flowers and insects. In the children’s competition, there was a dead heat between Georgina and Martha for their stunning Easter adornments. The pre-school winner was Ava who apparently now likes to sleep in her bonnet!

At the event itself, over £250 was collected towards church building running costs. Plant and bric-a-brac sales will continue outside the church up to Easter weekend. Thanks go to those who helped organise the Easter Fun event but especially to Jan, Jane, Jane, Judy and Ruth.

The church in Tuttington is the only public building in the village and it is used for both devotional and secular events to support our community. Any help towards the running costs and repairs of this valuable medieval building is greatly appreciated.
